Moving Beyond Automation to Smarter, Self-Managing Product Data

Distributors are under increasing pressure to onboard more products, manage complex supplier data, support expanding digital channels, and deliver accurate product information faster than ever. Yet many organizations still rely on manual processes, spreadsheets, disconnected systems, and time-consuming data preparation to keep their operations moving.

Traditional Product Information Management (PIM) solutions have helped distributors centralize and govern product information. But as data volumes and operational complexity continue to grow, a new approach is emerging: Autonomous Data Operations.

Powered by advances in artificial intelligence and agentic technology, autonomous data operations go beyond traditional automation and AI-assisted content generation. Instead of simply helping users complete individual tasks, intelligent systems can increasingly understand objectives, orchestrate multistep workflows, identify and resolve data issues, and execute routine operations with appropriate human oversight.

In this session, we'll explore what this evolution means for distributors and how organizations can begin applying autonomous capabilities within their existing technology environments, including Infor ERP systems.

Attendees will learn:
- Why traditional data management is reaching its limits: Understand the operational challenges created by growing SKU catalogs, inconsistent supplier data, fragmented workflows, and increasing digital commerce requirements.

- How AI is evolving from assistance to autonomy: Explore the progression from manual data management to rule-based automation, AI-assisted workflows, and autonomous operations.

- Where autonomous data operations deliver practical value: Discover real-world distribution use cases, including supplier and SKU onboarding, product classification, data normalization, enrichment, exception management, and multichannel syndication.

- How autonomy works alongside existing ERP investments: Learn how distributors can extend the value of their Infor environments by introducing intelligent data orchestration across suppliers, enterprise systems, and downstream channels.

- How to get started: Identify practical opportunities to introduce autonomous capabilities incrementally while maintaining data governance, visibility, and human control.

Through practical examples and an exploration of emerging capabilities, this session will demonstrate how distributors can move beyond managing product data to creating operations that increasingly manage themselves.

The goal isn't simply to make existing processes faster. It's to fundamentally rethink how product data moves through the distribution business.
